It’s Today! Drop in at the Women Make Arkansas Market at FB

Wild Ozark Intro video

I’m excited to be participating in this Women make Arkansas Market event today. It’s a Facebook thing, orgainzed by Et Alia Press. Due to Covid-19 and all the social distancing we just can’t do in real life. But if you’re able to pop in and see the video me and Chloe made the other day, please do. I’ll post a link to it here whenever I see it go live on FB. It’s an introduction to me and what I do as an Arkansas Woman Maker. I’d like to thank Erin Wood of Et Alia Press for including me!

Here’s the ‘About’ info from the Event page:

Join 50 women makers and creative entrepreneurs from across Arkansas for the second annual Women Make Arkansas Market, inspired by the book Women Make Arkansas: Conversations with 50 Creatives. This year, the market will be virtual, occurring through this Facebook event page via videos from each maker posted throughout the day on April 30, and will include dozens of exciting DISCOUNTS and GIVEAWAYS valued at more than $1,000 in woman-owned-business gift certificates, books, art objects, self-care items, jewelry, and more. A fundraiser with matching gifts from Et Alia Press and Mercer Textile Mercantile will support the Celebrate! Maya Project.

Can’t make it to the market between 9 am and 5pm? Videos will remain posted (and archived at etaliapress.com/voicesblog) and giveaways and discounts will be live through Saturday, May 2 at 7 pm. Winners will be announced on Sunday, May 3.

This Market will offer an opportunity to celebrate the ingenuity of Arkansas women and the diversity of our crafts as we adapt to the sweeping changes that we are all experiencing. There is no pressure to buy or sell, although those opportunities will be available; if you are able, this will be a wonderful chance to support Arkansas makers you already love and those you meet through the Market. This event is about the power of sharing—our passion for our work, the projects that are giving us hope, our creative drive, our entrepreneurial spirit. It is about remembering that who we are and all we experience are inextricable from what we make.

The event is co-hosted by Et Alia Press and The Bernice Garden, where the event was held in 2019 and will hopefully be held in 2021 when we can all gather in person once more.
