This morning I walked over to see if there’s grass growing in the horses’ field yet. After crossing over rocks in the creek, as I walked up the hill out of the creek valley, I found this fossil. It looks like the spiral of an ammonite. If that’s what it is, it’s the first one I’ve ever found here. So that was a pretty cool find.
More Spiral Sightings
Then later while I was looking at the garden and thinking about what to plant and where, I noticed of those curling shapes. I love finding spirals in nature. It’s fun to make note of them. It fascinates me to see how many repeating patterns exist in nature. And it’s interesting how your mind can notice patterns more easily after the first instance of seeing it in a day.
